CTG Comes For Lil Wayne’s New Album

There was some beef this week between Charlemagne The God and Lil Wayne when CTG openly mocked Lil Wayne’s new album on his morning radio show. CTG has a pretty wide reach in the hip-hop community. He is incredibly well known, especially for his radio show put on by iHeartRadio: The Breakfast Club.

Charlamagne Tha God is also a writer and has a book titled “Black Privilege” which ranked sixth in the New York Times of bestselling hardback nonfiction on May 7 2017. Another book he has written is titled “Shook One: Anxiety Playing Tricks On Me”.

On The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne Tha God talks about upcoming issues and current events in the hip-hop community. He also features different artists and gives his takes on new songs and albums. This last week, with the long-anticipated drop of The Carter V, Lil Wayne’s latest album, CTG was not quiet about how unamused he was overall.

During his show, Charlamagne Tha God started to mimic the lyrics to one of the songs on the album, “Let it Fly”, a single that features famous rapper Travis Scott. CTG started singing along to the song using made up lyrics that showed how unimpressed he was with the hit overall. Fans were disappointed by this, as many were eagerly awaiting this new album and overall it has received mostly positive feedback.

Later in the week, CTG further explained himself in an Instagram caption that he posted on his personal account. The caption talked about how he actually thought the album was good and showed his high esteem and respect for Lil Wayne by saying how he thinks he is the GOAT (greatest of all time) and that the album in itself was not bad. He said that he simply did not think the album would be one of the hottest of the year, as many people on social media had predicted it to be. In his caption, he implied that he meant no disrespect and that he simply wanted to clarify his stance on it. He ended the caption by saying he does not care what other people say and does not wish to discuss it further. Refer to This Article for related information.

If you are interested in CTG’s musical opinions and takes, you can tune into his show The Breakfast Club.
